Girl’s Learn International Club of MHS presents: An Art Show for Education

From May 15th-May 19th a collection of works by local artists as well as students will be on display. All pieces are in response to the “Girl Effect” video and/or the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The show is a benefit for our partner school inIndia, which is one of the few in its region that educates both female and male students!

Opening is Sunday, May 15th from 1-4 pm.    The collection will also be part of the Montclair Gallery Walk on Thursday, May 19th from 6-9 pm.   Brassworks Gallery is open from 8-6 pm on weekdays.

ONGOING INSTALLATION OF SOLAR ARRAY AT BRASSWORKS

Phase 2 of our solar array installation is now complete with the installation of 60 panels on the 1 story building.   Phase 3 which consists of installing solar film on the 2 story building has already begun and should be completed within the next week

INSTALLATION OF SOLAR PANELS AT BRASSWORKS

Starting April 8th Brassworks will begin the 2nd phase of a project to install a 27 kilowatt solar array system on our 2 buildings.  The first phase was completed at the end of last year which consisted of the installation of inverters in the electrical room (pictured above).  These inverters turn direct current which will be produced by the panels into alternating current.

The second phase will consist of installing solar panels on the older 1930′s one story building and the 3rd phase will consist of installing lightweight solar film on the 2 story building.

8/27/10-New Bike Rack

We have installed a bike rack so that  tenants and visitors have a place to lock their bikes.  Please use it and contribute positively to the environment and your health!

3/29/10  Yvette Lucas and John Fletcher

Last Friday night a well attended opening at Brassworks featured the photography work of Yvette Lucas and John Fletcher.   Entitled ” Stick and Stone” this exhibit will be open during the weekdays from 8 am- 5 pm and on weekends by appointment.  Click on the photograph below to see more images of the exhibition.

2/1/10       Haiti Relief Benefit Raises $35,000

146 artists participated contributing 240 works of art.   After opening the doors at 2:00 last Sunday most of the work was gone within an hour with many generous donations from those who came to look at the work.  An anonymous donor matched donations made at the door which helped push the total contributed to $35,000.   Thanks to everyone especially the team who worked hard to put this together.
